Terms of Service

By accessing or using DonateLanka ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. DonateLanka reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

To use DonateLanka, you must: - Be at least 18 years of age - Be a legal resident of Sri Lanka or have a valid Sri Lankan bank account - Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements - Not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable laws Organizations must be legally registered in Sri Lanka to create campaigns.

When creating an account, you agree to: - Provide accurate and complete information - Maintain the security of your account credentials - Promptly update any changes to your information - Accept responsibility for all activities under your account - Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Campaign organizers agree to: - Provide truthful and accurate campaign information - Use funds only for the stated purpose - Provide updates to donors on fund usage - Comply with all applicable laws and regulations - Not engage in fraudulent or misleading activities Prohibited campaigns include those promoting illegal activities, hate speech, violence, or content that violates others' rights.

By making a donation, you acknowledge that: - Donations are generally non-refundable except in cases of fraud - DonateLanka does not guarantee the success or outcome of campaigns - You are responsible for verifying campaign information before donating - Tax receipts may be available for qualifying donations - Donations are made at your own discretion and risk

DonateLanka charges platform fees as follows: - Standard campaigns: 5% platform fee - Emergency relief campaigns: 0% platform fee - Nonprofit campaigns: 2.5% platform fee Payment processing fees (approximately 2.5% + Rs. 10) apply to all transactions. Fees are subject to change with notice.

The Platform and its content, including logos, text, graphics, and software, are owned by DonateLanka and protected by intellectual property laws. Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant DonateLanka a license to use, display, and distribute such content for Platform operations and promotion.

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

DonateLanka provides the Platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for: - The accuracy or reliability of campaign information - The actions or conduct of campaign organizers or donors - Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages - Loss of funds due to third-party payment processor issues - Service interruptions or technical failures Our liability is limited to the fees paid to us for the specific transaction in question.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be: - First attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation - Subject to mediation if informal resolution fails - Governed by the laws of Sri Lanka - Subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Colombo, Sri Lanka

DonateLanka may terminate or suspend your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination.
